This group will cover significant ground and take less frequent breaks than the other teams in attendance. Hikers should be comfortable at a 15-minute per mile pace on flat ground and able to walk 10+ miles in one outing. This trail will not accommodate wheelchairs. Athlete - fast-paced hiker: Members of this team shoudl be in highly atheltic condition and comfortably able to hike on rough terrain. ![]() Hikers should be comfortable at approximately a 30-minute per mile pace on flat ground and should be able to walk 5-8+ miles in one outing. ![]() Hiker - slower-paced group: Members should join this team if they require a slower hiking pace along rough terrain.Expect moderate terrain, including paved and unpaved segments. Trail distance covered will be 6-10 miles, depending on weather conditions and safety considerations. Please note, you are responsible for bringing a wheelchair or making arrangements to rent one locally for your use during the trip. Wheelchair Hiker: Our wheelchair team will participate in this adventure by rolling along a flat (mostly paved) trial along the rim of the Grand Canyon.We'll set benchmark goals along the way, and provide tips and feedback to help you meet your fundraising goal! You'll have additional opportunities to earn swag, and even have your travel expenses covered by meeting additional fundraising threshholds.ĭuring registration, participants will be asked to select from the following participation options (this will help us best customize your physical training plan and account for how many trail guides will be needed to work with each team): SBA's Program Director, iConquer trip leader, and fellow teammates will be at your side every step of the way to help you succeed!Īll participants must raise a minmum of $5000 to complete this adventure.
